The name of our company accurately describes what we do - we are business designers. Some refer to us as Business Architects. We use input from our customers to create a customized design to achieve their goals. The client is actively involved all along the process with minimum time required.
Not only do we offer Business Design Services but we also provide Process Design Services. The principles of design are the same at both levels.
Business Design Services
In-Sight
Business executives are risk adverse and thus prefer to limit their exposure by taking small steps in an engagement. To accommodate that concern BDC offers In-sight. In-sight is:
· A set of high-level Business Blueprints™
· An alignment analysis.
This product only requires two or three days of the client's time. The final report identifies and analyzes alignment problems and includes recommendations on how to resolve those issues. Alignment problems affect performance, slow down organizations, waste time and impact employee morale.
In-Depth
Having an In-depth understanding of the existing business design is even more useful. BDC offers this as a separate product. The client receives a detailed alignment analysis along with other deliverables such as:
Although the In-depth product requires considerably more analysis on the part of BDC only four to six additional days of the client's time is needed.
In-Ovation
Depending on the results of the In-depth initiative the client may decide that a remodeled design is necessary. This is an effort where BDC works with the management team to ensure the new design of the business created by BDC meets the client’s expectations and will enable the company to execute its strategies - ensuring a new level of performance and the alignment of the business model. Alignment can only be achieved by designing it in from the top down and outside in.
The deliverables for the In-Ovation product include:
The updated business design is created by BDC and owned by the client. It is the same relationship as you would have with an architect designing a house to your specifications. The architect puts on paper what you have in mind. It is a collaborative process and in the end the only way to consider it a success is if the client likes and believes in the design.
Process Design Services
What business does not have its share of problems? Do you know what your problems actually are? Jim and Stan have a knack for identifying the root cause of problems and designing workable solutions. Most often the initial problem is actually a symptom and it is the responsibility of the designer to follow the problem back to its source. If not communicated properly this will be interpreted as “scope creep” when in reality it is solving the problem and not masking the symptom.
BDC has the experience and expertise to be effective in any part of the organization and design processes to meet your requirements. We understand that process redesign implies change and all the challenges that go with it. On nearly every project we team up with people from Finance, IT and HR because process change has monetary, information and human resource implications.
Our process design experience goes back to the mid-1980’s and we look forward to working with you to improve how you do business.
